Duh, Mommy!

Now that school's under way, MPD and I are back to our long, glorious stroller walks, as often as we can get them. We live near some beautiful forest preserve/wetlands/pond areas, so there are lots of interesting things to discover when we're walking.

Wednesday morning we saw two Canada geese flying overhead.

"Look at those geese! Do you think they're going to land on the pond?" I asked. "No, it doesn't look like it. They're way up high. Where do you think they're going?"

MPD didn't hesitate before answering, "To the airport!"

Of course.

Brown-Eyed Love

Last night KLD and JPD had a "sleepover" in KLD's top bunk:
Which reminds me of how she used to climb into his crib and take a nap with him when he was little:

There are no words, of course, to describe how my mommy-heart feels about stuff like this!!

A Beautiful Butterfly

I have been meaning to show you this sweet butterfly that KLD made during the last weeks at school. It is a mommy butterfly and five baby butterflies, each of which she named (for herself and her siblings, obviously) and glue-sticked to the mommy's wings.

Every screaming fight in the back of the van, every sticky fingerprint on the refrigerator door, every late night helping someone throw up, every time I've walked out of Target almost in tears of frustration with my five little helpers--all worth it for one of these sweet butterflies!
